INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOLOGICAL PECULIARITIES IN STUDENTS FROM ECOLOGICALLY UNFAVORABLE AREAS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF TEMIRTAU, KAZAKHSTAN) |
| E.A.Buketov Karaganda State University, the Ministry of Education and Science, Karaganda |
Inadequacy of a person’s adaptive possibilities enabling to cope with causes of overwork, neurogenic depression, is the source of disability, chronic diseases and premature aging. The task of one of the new trends of modern applied ecological psychophysiology is to find out the role of various individual features that enhance protective functions of the body and making it vulnerable to the influence of different internal and external factors.
We researched individual and psychological traits of a person and level of neurotism among the students under the stress influence from ecological harmful industrial region of central Kazakhstan (Temirtau). Testing group consisted of the students form East-South part of Karaganda where there isn’t any industrial enterprises. The studying of individual and psychological traits was made by G.D.Aizenka with the use of adapted blank questionnaire EPI. Stress is caused by single cold hypoxic hypercapnic influence (CHHI), consisting of three components: short-term hypoxia, cold and hypercapnia, which evolved under the dipping of face into water (Patent of Russia Nr. 2161476).
According to the aim we researched dynamics of individual and psychological features of students’ characters before and after the stress influence (one-term CHHI). CHH influence, being in fact short-term stress, revealed peculiarities of higher nervous activity (HNA) reactions of students from different regions with various psychological type.
Obtained results allowed to reveal a high level of students’ situational genuineness, containing 61% among respondents. Tested students who received high points by the scale “falsity” were excluded from the research. Comparative data of both groups showed that among the students from testing group there are a lot of potential extroverts and extroverts in comparison with experimented group (Temirtau), where in fact amount of introverts and potential introverts are higher. Researches by the scale of neurotism found out a high level of neurotism among students from harmful regions in comparison with testing group.
After stress influence in the group of students from harmful regions the number of neurotic students with emotional anxiety increased. While rates of students from testing regions remained stable.
Thus obtained results testify about the influence of ecological harmful environment on psychical health of inhabitants in Temirtau that conditioned by toxic emissions of industrial enterprises, increasing the level of neurotism, discordance, reflecting low level of adaptability, emotional instability, liability to the influence.
