Scrubber-absorber ( B 01 D 53/18, B 01 D 47/14)

Investigating problems of clearing technological or smoke gases from various dusts and gaseous impurity, I have developed a design of an effective scrubber-absorber, which can be applied in oil refining, power and other industries.

The effective scrubber-absorber has an original constructive decision and can simultaneously clear the polluted industrial gas emissions from dustlike particles, as well from harmful gaseous impurity containing in gases, such as sulphurous anhydride (SO2), hydrogen sulphide (H2S).

Due to dispersion through the atomizers in the scrubber-absorber a solution of the chemical reagent is injected producing chemical reactions with hazardous gaseous impurities and neutralizes them. At the same time solid pulverulent particles are filtered out.

The specified processes occur in the layer of liquid irrigation, on the nozzle surface and, to some extent, on sprayed and drizzling drops under irrigation.

Use of the given scrubber-absorber will enable to raise the efficiency of processes, such as clearing of gas streams at a device where at the same time, in one body both dust clearing and gaseous impurity are implemented. Thus, slime drains are divided into two separate streams: with light and heavy particles which might be of a differing chemical composition.

The design of the scrubber-absorber has been patented.

The scrubber-absorber is constructed and successfully works at Chemical Plant in Turkey.

Clearing ability of our scrubber-absorber exceeds the parameters of existing devices: on dust and other particles - in 1,3 times, on gaseous impurity in 2 times. Its application enables to safeguard the atmosphere, protecting it from dust and harmful gases, which are emitted by power and industrial plants.

In some cases modernization of the existing devices based on the use of constructive elements of the scrubber-absorber is also possible. In combination with other neutralizers the scrubber-absorber might be used for neutralization of other gas hazards.

In existing cyclones the branch of dust particles from gas streams occurs under action of the centrifugal force arising at rotation of gas between the case and an exhaust pipe, however action of centrifugal force on particles of a dust is kept to the full only within the limits of no more than one turn of gases; after one turn the stream of gases extends, therefore centrifugal force decreases and disappears; at walls of the case the turbulences again involving particles of a dust in a gas stream in view of what particles of a dust leave a cyclone together with cleared gases are formed.

I developed an effective cyclone without the above mentioned defects. Besides it can be operated to manage the processes of clearing of gases detecting fractional properties of the dust.

The design of the operated cyclone has been patented.

Efficiency of clearing the dust of average fractions in comparison with the known devices is 3-4 times higher. The application of the cyclone contributes to clearing up the atmosphere accumulating hardly perceptible average and fine fractions of dust.
