Swapping of fluids with a snake pump has the history of more than two thousands years. Such first device (Archimedean screw) is attributed to Archimedes inventions.
Nowadays in Russia at Orel State Technical University it was stated that for more efficient functioning of a pump with the basic part a screw hoist made as a snake, the latter requires further technical upgrading. The snake made according to a new technology has absolutely new technical parameters, which was testified from numerous laboratory investigations and industrial approbations conducted at sewage disposal plants in Orel. The new technology of the snake construction enables to curb the negative action of centrifugal force and to prevent fluid mass from throw-off from the snake blade at least before it reaches the cylinder frame of the pump. This was achieved due to the fact that the snake blade in the radius of the batcher on the part of its working surface protruding from its body was added with a special detail spreading over the whole perimeter of the outside diameter from the side of the working surface of the blade. The approbations showed that productivity of water swapping was increased by 50% also reducing the pump’s energy consumption.
Newly developed constructions of snake pumps enable to swap not only rain water but also the silt waters with admixtures of bits of clay and stones. New snake pumps performed as portable manual tool comprise: the pump, the driving gear and pressure hose (at such pump there is no suction hose since it is just not needed). An electric drive, pneumatic drive and gasoline drive can be switched to the pump to rotate snake. Besides, the snake drive might be both inbuilt and separate. Thus, as one of the most perspective drives can serve a drive from a powerful electric drill, which can be adjusted to the pump.
Such pump might be widely applied in ecological technologies for swapping shower waters, for liquidation of the consequences of natural calamities due to floods or leakage of dense oil or black oil on banks or coasts as well as cleansing of the so called “black oil” lakes. Such snake pump can be widely used in industrial technologies at swapping of: water, milk, honey, fractions of vegetable oil, batter, butter, easily dropping oil, denser oil, technical fats, solidol, black oil, construction solvents, foam cement and other similar fluids.
The pump can be also used by fishers and sailsmen to swap waters from the boats with a leakage.
It can be easily operated by one person or a robot.
