THE ACCOUNT OF EXPERIENCE OF EUROPEAN COUNTRIES IN ESTIMATION OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY AT RUSSIAN FOOD ENTERPRISES

The most preferable parameters of energy efficiency for domestic and foreign consumers recognize specific parameters of energy consumption and natural resources on unit of output or processed production. Therefore this parameter for a dairy enterprise is the proportion of the consumed resources for processing 1 liter or 1 ton of milk, whereas for a beer brewery enterprise this parameter would be – 1 liter of beer.

Having compared specific parameters for energy consumption at Russian enterprises and the ones of European countries, it is possible to define a potential energy efficiency and on its basis to come up with concrete measures on cutting energy costs.

Comparing the data on energy usage for processing of milk in the countries of Europe and in Russia it is possible to make a conclusion that the reserves of economy make about 20 - 22 %, that is confirmed by the researches at Tomsk enterprises within the framework of the project “Effective Utilization of Resources in Russia and Great Britain. “In what are we different?” within the framework of the Program SEPS-3, carried out by the British Advice supported by the Ministry of Environment protection, Food and Development of Rural Areas of Great Britain (Defra).

At a large dairy enterprise the analysis of water and power use for processing 1 liter of milk were carried out. The following data were obtained:

energy use per production unit (kilowatt/dal)

water consumption per production unit

the enterprise in Tomsk

0,085

2,4

European countries

0,07

1,8

To raise efficiency of resources use by 10-15 % will enable to use natural temperature in winter time, avoiding condensate heat losses, maximal use of space of refrigerating chambers and partial modernization of the out-of-date equipment. The estimated financial economy will make about 30 000 Euros with return on investment within three years.

Ar Tomsk beer brewery there are also reserves of efficiency increase regarding use of power and natural resources. The reserves of increase of energy use efficiency in comparison with the data of Germany and European states lie above 25 %:

energy use per production unit (kilowatt/dal)

water consumption per production unit

the enterprise in Tomsk

1,3÷1,7

5,3

German data

0,54÷0,8

4,2÷4,8

European countries

0,8÷1,1

4,5 (Great Britain)

During the project the enterprise is offered to use a condensate heat, to adjust a water reuse from gargle of bottles and to update a source of power supply. In result the enterprise can receive economy at a rate of 15 000 Euros under investment return time of one year.

In free market conditions competitive Russian enterprises, Tomsk included, are compelled to improve technological processes due to effective utilization of natural and power resources and, as a consequence to this – reducing environmental effects.
