| A.V. Levanchuk | MONITORING MANAGEMENT FOR INDUSTRIALLY POLLUTED SOILS |
| St. Petersburg State Railway University, St. Petersburg , Russia |
The most advanced way for the estimation of conditions for industrial polluted soils is the Ecological Mycological Estimation, which makes it possible to get reliable characteristics for the extent of toxic impacts. The indicator for the specification of the level of industrial pollution has been chosen according to dynamic indices for association of animalcular soil fungus, which is a result of soil pollution. The functional activity of soil funguses, which were separated from soils, is correlated with a level of heavy metals pollution. It is discovered that pre-potent species, which are sensitive to carbonaceous substrates (polymer substances), lose their dynamic validity in ecologically disrupted soils and they are displaced by species which have a high poly-functional activity.
The diagnostic characteristics of damaging impact levels for soil conditions in the industrial areas that were elaborated rely on bio indexes.
The range of sensitive species, which have shown a high level of functional activity to polymer substances (amylopectin, substrate containing cellulose) in unpolluted soils as well as they have shown a sustaining of species diversity, due to resistant to pollutant impact animalcular soil fungus, has been registered in the zone of eco-risk (according to the index of high metal soil pollution Zc).
The increase in species diversity due to the activation of the species, whose growth stimulates occurrence of toxicants in the soils and a damage of soil metabolism, has been noticed in the zone of ecological crisis (Zachinaeva A. V. 2005). Species which represent this man-induced complex have a high poly functional activity to the polymer substance and their activity is referred not to the humification of plants reliquiaes but to the adaptation to high industrial pressure. Man-induced complex for animalcular soil fungus in industrial areas is represented by species which might provoke different types of morbid conditions like immune-depression, different types of allergic response, asthma, mycotoxicosis. According to the estimation of the level of contamination by fungi allergens (Levm) this level amounts 9.3, 19.2 and 18 for the populated locality which had been analyzed, although this level is no more then 1 for baseline soils. It has been discovered that the correlation between the morbidity level in industrial areas and the level of contamination by fungi allergens for local soils seems to be very high (p<0,01).
There is a scheme of monitoring of industrial area conditions which is supposed to be used for estimation and prediction of risk of allergic responses:
Mathematical models which indicate the correlation between human sensitization in industrial areas by fungi allergens and level of soils contamination by chemical pollutants and sporules of fungi allergens, have been created on the base of the data of mycological monitoring.
Consequently in view of high degree of impact of fungi allergens on human sensitization, the scheme of monitoring includes the estimation of soils contamination level by fungi allergens and estimation of etiological value in the point of allergenic process development.
