I.V. Arkhipova INDIVIDUUM´S ACTIVITY AS THE KEY FACTOR OF ITS DEVELOPMENT

The factors influencing the development of the personality were known in psychology long ago. Most determining of them are heredity and environment. To such “environmental” factors as upbringing, study, coommunication and work have been always paid special attention in psychological-pedagogical science and practice due to their use in the process of forming a personality. But being developed and formed under the influence of this factors a person also influences each of this factors, his own background, creates it and adjusts it according to his requirements. Today, the most evident indicators of such changes are becoming from one side the presence of powerful informational streams, development of the latest technologies, from other side – critical state of the ecology as well as spiritual and physical health of a human being. That means that a person is responsible for the conditions in which he can hardly live or he does not want to live. This determine an inside conflict, a state of panic or strain, otherwise a deepest psychological discomfort compelling him to search for additional inner resources and more effective behavioral patterns.

The solution of the problem requires a complex approach but one of the possible variant might be change of priorities in the ranking of the main factors of personality development in the conditions of super active or even aggressive environment. In our opinion the first place should occupy such factor as a self-activity of the personality, which used to be improperly undermined in the practice despite of a great and long-time interest of the scientists to this personalized self-education. Activity is a relatively complicate psychological phenomenon but in this case it should be viewed as «… a way of self-expression and self-realisation of the personality in life which enables to sustain its quality as an integral, independent and self-developing subject». /3/ In other words this activity ensures a person the consciousness and involvement into all occurring to him processes, ability to choose and influence their progression. This activity which accumulates external and internal activities of the subject»/1 / A.V.Brushlinsky wrote that the most important quality of man is to be a subject that is a creator of his own history: initiate and implement from the very begin a practical activity, communication, endeavour, contemplation and other kinds of human activities: creative and moral one». /2 / the deficit of such position in a modern man is determined by the whole previous system of upbringing, education and a mode of living. But the times change and today, for a comfortable and efficient existence man should possess such characteristics as: a skill to make a conscious choice, to display an initiative, to make decisions (often ingenious), to be responsible to himself as well as to society. In this connection we believe that modern pedagogical science, psychology ad other man-related sciences must pay a special attention to development his personal (subjective) activity. To learn and let a person to be initiative and at the same time responsible for everything occurring in his life that is what we did not do yesterday but have realized its necessity today. When each member of society is ready to such active and responsible attitude, the whole society transfers to other qualitative level of its development contributing to best solution of the global problems.
