ECOLOGICAL THREATS WHEN “WRONG” INCINERATION |
| Donetsk National Technical University, Ukraine |
Researches for mixtures of municipal solid waste (MSW) with addition of acid resin waste, dust of hard coal and coke slag were executed with the purpose of creation of a fuel briquettes for industrial furnaces. Quantities of ash, emissions of thermal gases and vapors, higher caloric of a incineration and other were measured. Results of the measurements are shown in tab. 1,2

We researched (in laboratory conditions) concentrations of ejected toxic gases
after MSW incineration and total concentrations of toxic metals in the fuel-briquettes-ash.
Besides, we measured those parts of metal concentration in ash that were in
mobile (soluble) forms and are penetrable into the soil, whereas some of them
being in volatile forms combined with a furnace smoke were dispersed into
the atmosphere. The results of the measurements are shown in tab. 3,4.

The data of tables 1-4 show: firstly, the mixture of MSW and wastes of coke-chemistry can serve as a basis of fuel briquettes for burning in industrial furnaces; secondly, the obtained data on pollution of the atmosphere and soil allow to create an adequate system of environment protection at burning such briquettes
